It looks different here…I know. I know!
Things are a’changing! I’ll explain as much as I can later…don’t worry…you haven’t missed much.
I’m trying to get comfortable in my new home here at www.CandyHeartsBlog.org…
.org .org .org — SHEESH! I hate change. (You too!? Well, update your bookmarks anyway, because this one will be sticking for awhile.)
The bottom line is that I’m still alive, but I really have *NO IDEA* how to give my new domain the makeover it needs…so please be patient with me. I’m starting from scratch, and will be playing around with stuff for awhile. Hopefully I won’t cause any permanent damage in the process.
I’m easing back into the Blog-o-sphere, thanks to Kerri’s Diabetes Month Photo-A-Day challenge (#dmpad).
Day 1: Past
Taken in 2003 (and before we owned a digital camera), this was the the first time we heard the words “It’s a girl!”.
In our third year of marriage and expecting our first baby, we were sitting on the brink of the rest of our lives. We didn’t know then that two more baby girls would follow, or that the baby in these sono pics would be diagnosed with both Type 1 Diabetes and Celiac Disease before her 6th birthday. To be honest, I’m not even sure we knew what either of those diagnoses meant.
We didn’t know that, 2 years after this picture was taken, our lives would be uprooted by her T1D diagnosis, and we’d move across country in a desperate attempt to maintain access to health insurance. We didn’t know the struggles of managing blood sugars 24 hours a day while balancing a family, careers, and marriage.
